Where your solar money goes
A turnkey home system in Portugal cost €4,500 to €6,000 for 3 kWp, €5,500 to €7,500 for 4 kWp and €6,500 to €9,000 for 5 kWp in 2026, with 23% VAT included. Pick a size to see the range, the VAT inside it and how a typical price splits between panels, labour, the installer's costs and margin, wiring and protection, the inverter, mounting and the grid connection.

How it works
The ranges are the 2026 averages 4gnews collected from DGEG certified installers in Lisbon, Porto and Coimbra, turnkey, with the 23% VAT that applies since July 2025. A battery has its own line, at Bave Energy's €3,500 to €4,500 for 5 kWh and €6,500 to €8,500 for 10 kWh; their page does not say whether VAT is included.
The split uses the published cost shares for home systems under 30 kWp in Europe, taking the middle of each range and scaling them to add up to 100%, applied to the system price without VAT. It shows a typical price, not your quote: ask the installer to put panels, inverter, battery and installation on separate lines, so you can compare them.
